A The temperature raise is obtained from self-friction of resin particles. It is an energy conversion initially comes from the intensive rotated, special shaped mixing tools which drive or “fly” the particles in a whorl route with sufficient aeration and abrasion of different substances. During the intensive mixing process, homogenization, agglomeration, bonding, dispersing, crushing, wetting, coloring, drying, disintegration and dyeing of fibers, coating etc multiple reactions of polymers are also carried out and completed in a batch time of several minutes.
External hot oil circulation, as an additional heating source, is also available for certain circumstances as per PVC formulations. The double layer jacket vertical mixing tank of heating mixer was designed for the heat transfer oil circulation driven by a HTM(heat transfer media) temperature controller or named as heat exchanger. While in most general applications, the jacket is filled with heat insulation cotton only.
Hence, such mixers are named as high speed mixers, high intensity mixers, turbo mixers, heating mixers or hot mixers specially for blending PVC mixtures.

A The mixing process, is actually a combined process of homogenizing and compounding of PVC resins and other additives, which requires a temperature raise condition for restructuring polymer chains while thorough contacting and uniform dispersion. For example, the plasticizer is absorbed by opened porous PVC resins above 100℃. 

A Typical PVC based formulation usually compromises PVC resin, filler, plasticizer, lubricants, stabilizer, modifiers, color masterbatches etc. Those compositions are shaped in powders, granules and liquids. Thus, to convert the various different characterized substances into a well homogenized, dispersed and stable mixtures with corresponded to formulation is not a general mixing process as simple as we thought.
